IMPHAL, July 17: In the endeavor to control inflation and to urge the state government to establish a Price Fixation Committee, a women body christened All Manipur Democratic Women Front (MDWF) was formed today.
In resolve came after a program titled Manipur Women Summit,2012 organised by Peoples Price Monitoring Committee (PPMC) was held at Khunthohanbi Sanglen, DM College campus.
The dais members consisted of S Shyamsunder, president of PPMC, president of MDWF, Ch Memcha Devi and general secretary of PPMC, Ch Gopalmacha.
Shymsunder in the meeting mentioned that the sale of essential commodities are left unmonitored and monopolized by businessmen of the state, the women’s body is formed to urge the state government to institute a price monitoring system.
There will also be a student’s summit and labor’s summit afterwards and the bodies will go about pursuing the demand in a democratic manner.
