IMPHAL, July 24: Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykisan today formally opened the 3rd Sorojini Memorial Journalist Shooting Competition, 2012 at the Khuman Lampak Shooting Range organized by the Sorijini Memorial Trust in collaboration with the Celebrity Media Group and Presto Wonders, Imphal.
The formal function was attended by the MLA as chief guest and ISTV chief editor Y Rupachandra and Manipur Rifle Association, ex-member S Seityabrata as president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the function, the MLA while praising the journalist community for its role in the development of the society; said such sporting competition will encourage the community to expand their experience and encourage them further.
The MLA further said the inclusion of the Pistol category from this year’s edition and the fact that the winners will be participating in a NE journalist shooting competition at Mizoram, early next year will further encourage the journalist community towards the sports.
Meanwhile, the ISTV editor said the organization of such sporting championship will encourage the journalist community to be more specific in their reporting of the sports discipline. He said such championships will widen the experience of the community.
