IMPHAL, July 4: Reacting to a Zero Hour proceeding of the current Assembly session on July 2, former opposition leader of the Manipur Peoples’ Party, O Joy Singh today convened a press briefing at his residence.

Speaking at the briefing, the ex-MLA said referring to his name during Zero Hour regarding an issue in connection of MLALADP fund for the year 2011-12 for the 20-Langthabal a/c during the period when he was the MLA is unprecedented.

He has further said that referring to his name during Zero Hour in the House and the contention raised thereupon is quite unfortunate.

“The matter raised and the issue involved is presently sub-judice before the Guahati High Court, Imphal with a pending judgement”.

“Raising of such matter of sub-judice in the House is not only called for but also unethical, uncultured and immature in the Parliamentary behaviour as the said MLA knows that the matter is sub-judice. It is quite apparent that the MLA is either ignorant or he does not care much of the cardinal rules of the relationship between legislative, executive and judiciary and non-interference therein”, the ex-MLA said.
