Premier govt schools set to begin classes from July 9

IMPHAL, July 7: The premier government higher secondary schools of the state, namely TG Higher Secondary School, CC Higher Secondary School and Johnstone Higher Secondary School are all set to begin classes for the new academic session from July 9.

Speaking to media persons today at TG Higher Secondary School, the principals of these three premier schools stated that the education department has installed all necessary infrastructures to accommodate all the students seeking admission to these schools and therefore classes can be smoothly held without any disturbance.

The number of students enrolled in these schools has gone up drastically this year, they noted.

In the previous year, TG School had strength of 200 in science, 220 in arts and 100 in commerce, but in this year it has gone up to 896 in science, 332 in arts and 62 in commerce stream.

Johnstone School has got 320 students in science stream as against 250 students in the previous year.

CC School has strength of 451 in science, 150 in arts and 80 in commerce as against 120 in science, 100 in arts and 30 in commerce in the previous year.
