IMPHAL, July 13: The investigation of the rape case of a U-Morok trader has been completed and the accused persons including two IRB personnel will be charge-sheeted soon, stated home minister Gaikhangam while replying to a question raised by MLA Nemcha Kipgen during the question hour today.
Gaikhangam presented the details of the investigation of the gang rape of Yangthairi Kamei alias Zangthuilu Golmei, 40, by four persons including two IRB personnel.
The two IRB personnel, namely Havildar Chungkham Ibomcha and Rifleman Kshetrimayum Kennedy and one SI Tiken have been put under suspension, he stated.
Replying to a question raised by MLA Th Bishwajit, Chief Minister O Ibobi who also holds the portfolio for tourism stated that there is no tourism policy in the state. The Draft Manipur Tourism Policy is under preparation.
The number of foreigners who visited Manipur was 460 in 2007-08, 271 in 2008-09, 405 in 2009-10, 431 in 2010-11, 602 in 2011-12 and 128 in 2012-13 till May.
Altogether there are 238 River Lift Irrigation Schemes in the state out of which only 137 schemes are functional, stated Chief Minister Okram Ibobi while replying to a question raised by MLA K Meghachandra Singh.
Answering to a question raised by MLA Kh Joykishan, Chief Minister Ibobi who also holds the portfolio for power stated that the installation of pre-paid meters is currently undergoing at Thangal Bazar, Rupamahal Tank, MG Avenue and Khoyathong Road under Thangmeiband assembly constituency.
