IMPHAL, July 8: Sena Atheletics’ Organization, SAO Kakching defeated Social Welfare Club, SWC by 2-1 in the opening match of the 9th Leihao Devi memorial Super Division League Football Tournament, 2012.
The tournament which is participated by seven teams is organized by the District Sports Association, Kakching at its playground.
The first goal of the opening match was scored in the 35th minute of play by Alex for SAO.
SAO ended the first half with a 1 goal lead.
James scored the equalizer for his SWC club just after the start of second half in the 47th minute and brought the scoreline to a 1-1 draw.
The winning goal was scored just 15 minutes before stoppage time by Sushilkumar.
SAO player Anilkumar and SWC Somorjit were awarded yellow cards in the 41st and 69th minute of play.
The tournament opening function was attended by Kakching Municipal Council, Chairperson M Inakhunbi and DSA, Kakching president N Krishna mohan Singh as the chief guest and president.
