20th World Congress for the prevention of nuclear war

    IMPHAL, August 17: A 42 member delegation of Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) including doctors, medical students and peace activists from Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Maharashtra, Bihar, Manipur, Nagaland, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu will leave for Hiroshima on August 20 from Delhi to participate in the 20th World Congress of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (lPPNW) to be held from August 22 to 26 on the theme “From Hiroshima To Future Generations.”

    The main focus of the congress would be on Abolition of Nuclear Weapons, check on the proliferation of small arms, renewable energy and not nuclear energy for electricity generation, sovereign rights of nations to decide their destiny, confidence building measures among nations etc.
