IMPHAL, August 10: 55 individuals were rounded up by the Imphal West police today during an early morning search operation at Khuyathong and its surrounding areas.
The state police have been conducting several search operation as part of its security measure for the upcoming Independence Day celebration in the state.
The individuals were rounded up from their residences and rent houses for failing to produce their identity proofs.
The early morning operation which was conducted since 5am this morning was conducted under the supervision of the DySP, I/W cdo, Sarangthem Ibomcha.
In the meantime, the Imphal East police led by its Addl SP (ops) W Rajen also conducted a search operation at Lamlong bazar area this early morning around 4am.
Six persons were rounded up during the said operation for further verification.
