IMPHAL, August 5: A statement by the Chairman of the United Revolutionary Front, Lanheiba Meitei states that, various splintered organizations waging the war of independence has come together in a common platform on August 3, which will remain a historic date.
The URF has been strengthened as various representatives of the organization has come forward and adopted a new strategy with a common objective. The objective is to strive towards a self sufficient status for the state and furtherance of peace and development by conducting ‘Peace Talks’ with the government. However, the talks should not be viewed in the wrong perspective by the public but should propagate it, it said. It is a policy that without causing further bloodshed , a political dialogue is considered a first option
The groups which have come together are the Lanheiba Meitei, Chingkheinganba Meitei, Sunil Meitei, Lamyanba Khuman and KK Nganba, the statement mentions. Further, it stated that different representatives are still arriving at the transit camp and other groups have also been communicated to. Lastly, the Front strives to bring about a congenial atmosphere in the state by conducting the peace talks.
