AMSU team left Imphal for NE festival

IMPHAL, August 6: A team of All Manipur Students’ Union has left Imphal today to participate the 4th North East Cultural Festival, which will be held from August 7 to 10, at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Naharlagun, Itanagar.

The festival is organized by North East Student’s Organization (NESO) and hosted by All Arunachal Pradesh Student’s union (AAPSU).

Seven student bodies of the North Eastern States will participate at the festival.

They are

All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU),

All Assam Students’ Union (AASU),

All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AASU),

Tripura Students’ Federation (TSF),

MizoZirlai Pawl (MZP),

Naga Students’ Federation (NSF)

Khai Students’ Union (KSU)

Garo Students’ Union (GSU).

The seven student bodies will showcase their cultural and indigenous games of their respective state at the festival.

The AMSU delegates who are representing the state has been assisted by

JN Manipuri Dance Academy, Manipur in Pung;

Oja Gosep Meetei & his party in folk dance;

Party of Oja Khangemba Mangi (Padmashree) in Penna;

HuiyenLanlong Manipur Thang Ta Association, Irilbung in indigenous game of Thang-Ta;

HeirokPanna in Mukna and Yubi-Lakpi;

Manipur Police Team of All Manipur SepakTakraw Association in SepakTakraw;

Students of LMS Law College in Handloom & Handicraft; and Sarva SikshaAbhiyan (SSA) State Mission Authority, Manipur.

A panel discussion on “vision and challenges of Students in North East India” will be held at the festival, where

AMSU will propose and give presentation on the topic including, education policy, illegal migrants/inner line permit system, AFSPA 1958, Look east policy/vision 2020, illegal mining of oil & big dam, etc.
