IMPHAL, August 14: 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (S) organised an Iftaar Party at Yairipok on August 13, 2012. Invitees from the various walk of life joined Muslim brethren in breaking the Ramdhan fast. Commandant 15 Assam Rifles welcomed the guests on behalf of Assam Rifles. The Iftaar get-together began with a short recital of verses from the Quran by Kazi of Yairipok Masjid and offered ‘Maghrib’ prayers. Speaking of the occasion, commandant said that the idea of purification and austerity behind the fasting ritual is beyond the folds of Islam. In fact the focus on core values, noble thoughts and good will during the Ramjaan month are beyond the religious and the spiritual practices and extended the idea of universal brotherhood and relationship based on peace. More than 150 persons including village authorities of Changamdabi, Tulihal, Sikhong Villages were attended the event.
