IMPHAL, Aug 22: The Executive Officer/SDC Wangoi G Sama Devi has failed in identification of additional BPL families in the Wangoi Nagar Panchayat even as the concerned Deputy Commissioner has intimated all the concerned Executive Officers to do so.
The allegation was made by Thongkhong Lakshmi Nagar Panchayat vice president, Laishram Thoiba.
Speaking to a select group of media persons today the vice president alleged that even the Imphal West DC has intimated to the concerned Executive Officers of the district to submit forwarding letters for the additional Adhoc allocation of Rice and Wheat for the newly identified BPL families under the targeted Public Distribution System.
However, notwithstanding the intimation from the concerned authority, the SDC who is also the Executive Officer of the area has failed to comply with it citing that it should be done by the Zilla Parishad chairperson even as the last date for submission of the said the forwarding letter happens to be August 23, he further complained.
He identified the affected Nagar panchayats as Samurou Nagar Panchayat, Wangoi nagar Panchayat and Thongkhong Nagar Panchayat all of the Wangoi Nagar Panchayat .
