Cabinet to discuss SoO on Aug 6

IMPHAL, Aug 4: The state cabinet is likely to meet again on August 6 under the chair of the state Chief Minister at 3pm.

According to a reliable source, the main agenda of the cabinet meet is likely to be the extension of the Suspension of Order agreement with Kuki militant outfits, and the status of the implementation of decision of the government to devolute powers and functions to the Autonomous District Councils.

Other likely agendas of the meet also include engagement of 100 AEs through the MPSC at the rate of 25 each for the departments of Power, PWD, IFCD, PHED, extension of reengagement of services of the retd Registrar Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench Ng Max Phazang and the service of the driver on contract basis for the office of public prosecuter High Court and recruitment under the National School Safety programme.

It is also learnt that, the cabinet meeting could also deliberate on the reengagement of two retained staffs of the Manipur Spinning Mill Cooperation Ltd who are beyond the age of 60 years and the restricted tenders for the works department.

Transfer of works for the construction of the road from Aibulone to Bongpilon in Churachandpur district under the NLCPR is another likely agenda for the meeting, the source informed.
