IMPHAL, Aug 8: Commandos of Imphal East district conducted combing operation at Nongmeibung Pung Makhong, Lisam Leikai and Academy road today morning staring from around 4:30 am and continued till 9 am. During the combing operation, six persons suspected to be militants were detained but they were later release after confirming that they were civilians.
Meanwhile, a team of CDO Imphal West had also conducted cordon and search operation today morning at around 10 am starting from Mass Hotel to BT Road areas. During the operation, eight persons, who were not able to produce identity poof, were taken to City Police Station for verification. Later, four of them were release after a thorough verification while four others were further detained for further verification.
