IMPHAL, August 4: Locals and a team of the Manipur Fire Service today controlled a fire from further spreading and severely destroying a house at Chingamakha Oinam Leikai this evening around 3pm.
The house where the fire broke out belongs to one Oinam Naotombi, 30 son of Guno. The fire is suspected to have ignited from the kitchen due to an electric short circuit.
It is learnt that all family members were absent from the house when the fire broke out and that the house was locked.
Seeing smokes erupting from the house, the neighbours broke open the locked and stop the fire from spreading further from the kitchen with help from the fire team that had arrived at the spot.
There was not much damaged from the fire except for some kitchen wares.
