Grenades lobbed

    IMPHAL, August 1: Unidentified persons today left hand grenades at two different locations in the state during two separate incidents.

    According to a source, unidentified persons this early morning at around 6:45am left a Chinese hand grenade with a detonator at the residential gate of a panchayat member candidate of Bashikhong Kitna Punnung, Mutum Kaleshwar, 35 son of Manihar.

    Police have meanwhile retrieved the grenade later, the source informed.

    Meanwhile, in an altogether different incident this morning at 7am, unidentified persons left another Chinese hand grenade at an electronic shop at Moirang Bazar. The shop belongs to one Laishram Sarat alias Govind, 42 son of Kunjakesho of Sunu Siphai Mayai Leikai.

    Police have retrieved the grenade, sources informed.
