IMPHAL, August 31 : A team of 35 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector under HQ, IGAR (South) conducted a medical check-up and health awareness camp at Christ King English School at Sajik Tampak village earlier on 29 August 2012.
A total of 450 persons from Sajik Tampak and adjoining villages including Christ King English school students were screened and treated besides providing medicines to the needy.
In a statement issued to the press, the Regimental medical officer delivered health awareness and motivational lectures for the students on various topics including preventive measures of varius seasonal and water borne diseases.
In a separate incident, 35 Assam Rifles provided assistance to the local club of Sajik valley to organise sports competition at Christ King English School On The Occasion Of National Sports Day on 29 August 2012. Sports item and various equipments were distributed to the school and village sports clubs of Sajik Tampak, a statement stated.
