IMPHAL, Aug 14: To commemorate the occasion of overthrowing the British rule in 1947, the stage is set to observe the Independence Day celebrations in the State.
Proper security arrangement have been made and the roads are sensitized by security personnel to thwart unwanted incidents from happening.
The formal function of the 65th Independence Day will commence from 1st battalion of the Manipur Rifles parade grounds on Wednesday.
The parade line up will start from 9.30 am at the said venue and will consist of 35 contingents. The observance will witness O Ibobi as the chief guest after formal decorum of General salute, Parade Review and hoisting of the National flag at about 9.40 am.
After the march past, outstanding police officers will be decorated and the Chief Minister will give his speech. The Governor will also organize a reception function at 4.30 pm at Raj Bhawan.
