IMPHAL, August 22: After securing 11 points from five matches, DMRAO Awang Sakmei nears in to become the champion of the Imphal West Super Division Football League Tournament 2012 at THAU Ground.
DMRAO paves its way to become the Campion defeating SU Sagolband 2-1 in the first ground match today. After defeat from DMRAO, SU Sagolband lost the hope of becoming the champion. SU secures seven points from five matches.
During the match, DMRAO took the lead through a goal scored by Y Nipen in the 28th minute of the match and continued the lead by 1-0 till the first half of the match.
Later in the second half, M Ibomcha of SU scored an equalizer in the 47th minute and made the scoreline by 1-1 goal.
The match saw great competition between the two teams. In the 79th minute of the match, Ng Prakash of DMRAO added another goal to confirm DMRAO’s win.
Three players of SU, Arun (6th minute), L Ranjan (65th minute), N Ibomcha (68th minute) and two players of DMRAO, N Bikramjit (4th minute) and Y Hemba (80th minute) were shown yellow cards.
Meanwhile, in the second ground match of the day, YDO Kongjeng Lamdong draws with YPHU Lalambung goalless.
YDO secures seven points from six matches while YPHU secures nine points from six matches.
In the 59th minute of the match, Deepak of YDO was shown a yellow card by the referee.
The tournament will conclude on August 25. NACO Nambul Mapal will play against DMRAO Awang Sekmai in the first ground and THAU Thangmeiband will clash with SU Sagolband in the second ground matches of the concluding day.
