Kuki Inpi appeals not to impose taxes from Kuki villages

IMPHAL, August 7: The Kuki Inpi, Sadar hills has appealed the NSCN (IM) not to impose taxes from the Kuki villages in Bongbal area in Sadar hills. 

According to a release of Kupi Inpi said that it has learnt from a reliable source that, the NSCN (IM) have been imposing taxes from the Kuki villages in Bongbal area, Sadar Hills, Manipur. The Kuki Inpi, Sadar Hills would like to request the NSCN (IM) to withdraw its demands from the said area in the interest of peace and harmony among the different ethnic groups living together in peace.

The Kuki Inpi, Sadar Hills also would like to reiterate that such type of activities would bring no good but rather flare up communal disharmony of such great magnitude, which had taken place in the 1990s, it further said.

The Kuki Inpi, Sadar Hills further appeal to all underground organization not to do anything which could bring about communal disharmony but work for peaceful co-existence, it added.
