IMPHAL, August 28: Amidst the controversial moral policing of shady restaurants becoming a breeding ground for conduct of immoral activities, a man succumbed to his injuries after being attacked at a cafe.
The incident occurred at around 10 am today at Usha Café, Changagei Uchekon area. The deceased is identified as Thokchom Ibochouba Singh,38,s/o Th Gambhir of Nambol Govindagram.
According to reports, Ibochouba, married with three children was having an affair with a woman. The woman is identified as one Salam Rina Devi,28,w/o Salam Pradip of Laphupat Tera, at present living in rent at Khagempalli.
The incident happened when the duo was meeting at the said café and someone had approached them from behind. Ibochouba was attacked with a sword and sustained cuts on his head and upper body area. The attacker ran away immediately after committing the crime.
Lamphel police have taken up a case in the regard and Rina Devi is in police custody at present.
