IMPHAL, Aug 7: A-six-day-long training programme on “Capacity Building of Rural Development Functionaries for Sustainable Livelihood Approaches in northeastern region” was organized at National Institute of Rural Development-Northeastern Regional Council from July 30 to August 4.
The programme was sponsored by North East Council, Shillong and specially organized for Manipur. Nearly 5O participants from various organizations of the state participated in the training programme. Along with promoters of the training programme, Social and RTI activist Kambam Seityajit from Manipur has also participated. The Resource Persons were Dr. Binay Singh, Director, NIRD-NERC, Dr. S.K. Dutra, Dr. K.K. Bhattacharjee, Mr. Arupjyoti Sharma, Mr. Santanu Mohan Deb, Dr. Sunil Saikia, Mrs. M. Barman, Dr. D.C. Bondyopadhyay, Mr. L. Baite, Mr. B.N. Sarma, Dr. R.P. Singh, Mr. P.J. Khaound and Mr. Bhopal Neog have shared their experiences in lecture and presentation mood. Along with the class room sessions, the participants were taken to the field visit in order to make the participants familiarize with the local entrepreneurship and industrial development. The venue lor field visit was Fabric Plus Pvt. Ltd. and CG Foods Product Private Ltd. under Industrial Estate of Assam Industrial Development Corporation.
Chaygaon. The participants came to know about manufacturing of Eri and Muga Yarn and also about Wai- Wai Noodles as well.
