IMPHAL, August 20: The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, MPCC today observed the 68th Birth Anniversary of former Prime Minister of India (Late) Rajiv Gandhi at Congress Bhavan, BT Road, Imphal.
President MPCC Gaikhangam, Minister Works & Transport Dr Kh Ratan Kumar Singh, Minister IFCD Ngamthang Haokip, Minister R&D Francis Ngajokpa, Minister Comm & Industries Gobindas Konthoujam, MLAs Victor Keishing, Ng Bijoy, MS Presho Shimray, Yamthang Haokip, Haopu, D Kurungthang and other Congress workers paid floral tributes to the portrait of the Late Prime Minister.
The Congress members also took the sadbhavna pledge led by MPCC president Gaikhangam.
In the press briefing president MPCC Gaikhangam said during the observation, the members of MPCC took pledge to break the barrier of caste, creed and to bring unity in the state to bring development.
The pledge will not only go wasted in words but will also be carried out, he added.
He further said that the positive and constructive thoughts of Rajiv Gandhi will be followed to bring spiritually, physically and mental unity.
He also appealed to all to unite for the love of the mother land.
Later in commemoration with the 68th birth anniversary of the late Rajiv Gandhi organized a blood donation camp at annex hall, Congress Bhavan.
The blood donation camp was jointly organized by National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Manipur State and department of immunohaimatology & blood transfusion, RIMS Imphal sponsored by Manipur Aids Control Society (MACS)/SBTC Manipur.
