Three lives lost in separate road mishaps

IMPHAL, August 11: Three separate road mishaps have claimed three lives in the state since yesterday.

In the first incident, a rifleman of the 4th IRB succumbed to injuries on his way to the hospital.

The IRB personnel is identified as Samurailatpam Ton Sharma, 34 son of Dinamani of Yairipok Ketu Mamang.

The incident happened when Ton was coming home to deliver his salary alongwith a friend on his NV Scooter.

His scooter was hit by a Tata dipper at Yairipok Bazar last night around 8pm injuring both Ton and his pillion rider identified as Soraisem Aboton, 23 son of (L) Mangi of the same locality.

Ton who was rushed to RIMS succumbed to his injuries on the way, while, Aboton is presently undergoing treatment at the Shija Hospital.

The dead body has been handed over to family members after conducting post mortem at JNIMS.

Meanwhile, a Pulsar borne youth identified as one Angom Dayan, 21 son of Ibomcha of Wangoo Laipham Awang Leikai died during a road mishap near the Wangoo Tera Makhong Meira Shang under Kumbi Police station at around 8:30pm last night.

According to a source, Ibomcha’s Pulsar bearing regd no MN 01 R 4726 after hitting a cycle, hit a woman near the Meira Shang leaving two of his pillion riders, the cyclist and the woman injured while killing himself.

One of the pillion riders of the pulsar and the cyclist are undergoing treatment at the Shija hospital while the woman has been admitted at the RIMS.

The dead body has been handed over to family members after conducting post mortem at the RIMS.

Meanwhile, in another road mishap, a cyclist was killed this afternoon around 2:30pm at Ngaikhong Khunou under Bishnupur PS. He was hit by a Tata Winger bearing regd no MN-05A 2169.

The cyclist has been identified as Mayanglambam Mangi, 70 of Ngaikhong Khunou maning leikai.

The dead body has been shifted to the RIMS morgue for post mortem.
