IMPHAL, August 16: Women Action for Development (WAD), in a release, has strongly condemned the ongoing overrated crimes happening in the state.
Condemning the merciless killing of a five year old minor girl Maibam Miranda alias Angangmacha daughter of M Joykumar of Wabagai Tentha Thambal village, it has further said that such act of bestially recalls the past incidents of Lungningla Elizabeth, Muheni Martin and Hriini Hubert of Senapati, Samchetsabam Thambaltombi of Andro Awang Leikai, Laishram Chinglen Khomba of khagampalli Iron Pukhri Achouba Mapal, Sanjenbam German of Uripok Tourangbam Leikai and Thiyam Bobiroy of Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou ward no 4, where justices are not yet done.
Despite thorough investigation and initiatives taken up by the police to trace the culprits, WAD has appealed for a fast track prosecution and proper justice with befitting punishments against the culprits.
WAD also high depreciates the Porompat incident of selling a three-month-old infant by their parents just for the grasp of little money. Such incident marks the total child rights violation in the state, it said.
Further, it has condemned the recent grenade attack at the residence of AMWJU president A Mobi on August 11. Such a callous act to the journalist fraternity marks the total death of democracy in the state, it added.
