IMPHAL, August 9: “Justice T NK Singh of the Imphal bench of the Gauhati high court has closed the writ petition against the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences filed by Nepram Premila, now a nursing sister, levelling serious allegations”, informed a release of the RIMS media advisor.
“In his order the Justice pointed out that filing of writ petition is not a play thing, she cannot play with the judicial proceedings of this court”.
“The court imposed an exemplary cost of Rs 10,000 to be deposited to the High Court Bar Association fund after which the petitioner will be allowed to withdraw the petition”, the statement said.
“The court noted that serious allegations had been levelled against the Director, RIMS.”
“It was contended that the tutors were not given the salary accordingly but were given that of a staff nurse”, the statement said.
“It was pointed that they were not regular tutors but staff nurses”, it continued.
The court observed that “by making a complete somersault from the pleaded case of the petitioner in the present writ petition, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the petitioner wants to withdraw this writ petition ….. ” From the demure of the present petitioner, it appears, she is trying to play with the judicial proceedings of this court by filing writ petition wherein serious allegations are made against the authorities and later on writ petition is not pressed by her (the writ petitioner) for some undue benefits”, the statement said.
“In this connection court had imposed the exemplary cost of Rs 10,000.”
The RIMS authority appeals to certain sections of the employees to desist from filing writ petition on false or misleading charges since such petitions hamper the speedy implementation of developmental works in the institute. Sincere and unfettered suggestions and cooperations are solicited from all, to upgrade RIMS to one of the best medical institutes, it said.
