Decomposed body fished out

IMPHAL, September 8: A highly decomposed dead body was to found along the Imphal River at Mayang Imphal Angamba mapal this morning around 7:30am.

A Mayang Imphal Police team fished out the dead body from the river after locals informed about its recovery.

The dead body which is 5’6” in height and about 33/34 years old was found wearing a dark blue cargo pants, black t shirt and sports shoes. He has bead chain around his neck and sports a beard.

The dead body has been deposited at the RIMS morgue for identification.

Meanwhile, the Officer in Charge, Gamnom Sapermeina, Police station has informed that the dead bodies of the two unknown UGs killed during an encounter between CDO Imphal West and suspected UG cadres at Saheibung village under Gamnom Sapermeina Police station will be disposed on September 11 in case their identities are not established by then.

The two dead bodies are presently lying at the RIMS Morgue.

A statement of the police officer has said that the two were killed on September 5 around 8:30pm.

The statement has further identified the first body to be 5’4’’ in height, both ears pierced, wearing blue jeans and about 24/25 years and with a whitish complexion and short hair.

The second body which is about 24/25 years is 5’4’’ in height is wearing a T shirt, blue black belt, blue cargo pant, canvas shoes marked X-Star and white wrist watch.
