IMPHAL, September 24: The Joint Co-ordinating committee of engineering departments, Manipur issued a deadline and warned it would launch agitation from 28 September if their demands are not met by 27 September regarding non payment of salaries.
In a meet with the press held today, the secretary of the committee stated the salaries of 1950 work-charged employees were not paid their due salaries since the last 18 months, April 2010 despite repeated reminders and after submitting all the required documents.
The committee had also submitted a memorandum earlier on 14 September to the state chief minister seeking and urging the authority to ease their hardship by paying them their rightful salaries.
