IMPHAL, Sept 10: Imphal West Police today disposed of a powerful IED weighing 10kg recovered some 30 metres away from Paite Veng residence of Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing this night.
The explosive was found from the roadside by locals around 5:30pm and was detonated at the same spot by a police bomb squad team at around 10:30pm.
Police said the effective range of the IED is 500 feet.
