IMPHAL, September 5: The JAC against the death of Pangambam Rabi whose corpse was recovered from Khuda Lahore jungle on August 29 has urged the state authorities to investigate the incident and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
In this regard, six members of the JAC led by its convenor met Principal Secretary (Home) Dr J Suresh Babu at South Secretariat block this evening at about 5 pm.
The meeting was joined by Khurai MLA, Ng Bijoy and Phungyar MLA Victor Keishing.
The JAC members urged the official and the legislators to intimate the Chandigarh Police and the instituted Special Police team for speedy investigation of the case.
The matter was also reciprocated by the principal secretary and assured the JAC members of effective action.
It may be mentioned that the matter was pursued by the Suresh Babu and ADGP, LM Khoute as both met their Chandigarh counterparts and other concerned individuals on September 1.
