MOREH, September 11: Moreh Police under its OC, O Dorendro Singh conducted a special drive at Moreh Ward No 5 (Muslim Ward) to filter out illegal immigrants.
During the drive, around 500 individuals of Muslim Nagar were verified to filter out the illegal immigrants.
Speaking to this Moreh correspondent of the IFP, OC Doren said that Moreh being a border town there is need to filter out illegal immigrants.
The infiltration of illegal immigrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh is creating a big issue in the state and as such the Moreh Police will be conducting more surprise checks in the town.
He further appealed to the tourist or business persons coming to the international border town to carry their valid id cards or other verification papers on their person.
