IMPHAL, September 10: MPSC clinched both the men’s and women’s events of the 32nd Senir Men’s and Women’s State level handball tournament at the Citizens’ Club today.
The MPSC Men’s team defeated 119/TA by just one goal. The score-line stood at 26-25 at the end of the match.
The MPSC scorers are M Ingocha (scored 7), Okendro (5), Govind (3), Hemanta (2), Dinachandra (2), Mocha (2), Sushil (2), Brojen, Becker and Saratchandra (one each).
The 119/TA scorers are Ningthem, Sunil and Arjun (scored 6 goals each), Sanathoi (5), Romen and Sunderchand (one each).
In the women’s final, MPSC defeated SAIRC by 32-25 goals.
The MPSC scorers are Sunibala (10), O Sandhyarani and CH luxmi (8 each), CH Inaocha (3), Renuka (2) and Apabi (1).
The SAIRC scorers are O Anjali (13), B Sunitibala (4), Th Kamala (3), Ronibala (2), Purnima, Roma and Sangeeta (1 each).
Host Citizens’ Club had to be content with the third position in both the men’s and women’s section.
Citizens’ Club player Ksh Dayananda was adjudged the Best Player men while YLK player Th Bimolata wasa adjudged the best women players.
CC’s Uttam and 119/TA’s P Raju Singh and CC’s Priyadarshini were adjudged the best men’s and women’s goalkeepers respectively.
Special prize for Sports persons was given to L Becker of MPSC.
Today’s concluding function was attended by Thanga MLA, T Mangibabu Singh, Citizens’ Club president RK Sadananda BABINA Healthcare & Hospitality Industries pvt ltd chairman and MD Dr Th Dhabali Singh and YAS retd Deputy Director W Sushilkumar as chief guest, president and guests of honour,respectively.
The tournament had started on September 5.
