IMPHAL, September 9: The launching ceremony of “Ngaina Ngaina” a Manipuri feature film produced by IPAK Film production was held on 8 September at Manipur Press Club.

K Meghajit Singh, joint secretary, Manipur Assembly secretariat, Nongmaithem Noren, president, IPAK Films and Narendra Ningomba, eminent critic graced the occasion as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Film is the most important and useful medium in the process of promoting our culture, Meghajit said while addressing the function and added, a collective effort from all sides is necessary to promote films.

Narendra, who also spoke on the occasion stated the need to have a film institute in the state, where new artist could be trained. He further lauded the effort taken up by the Ipak Films production in strengthen and reviving the film movement in the state.

The film “Ngaina Ngaina” is produced by Rakesh Naorem, directed by OC Meira and written by Sagolsem Lakpati. The shooting will start from 23 September and expected to complete by 2nd week of October.

Mention may be made, Ipak Films already produced 2 films, 2 short films, 18 music video albums and a feature film titled “Shakhenbi Iteima”. A film titled “Phokdoknadringei” the 2nd feature film will also be released on 21 October, the statement said.
