IMPHAL, September 1: The United Committee Manipur, UCM has demanded the state government of Manipur an open and complete official report including their stance taken during the 4th Tripartite Talk held yesterday, 31 August at New Delhi.
In a statement, secretary information and public relation, United Committee Manipur, UCM, Ng Deba pointed out the participation by the state Govt of Manipur in a talk based on “Alternative Arrangement” between Govt of India and United Naga Council, UNC is an act directly against the interest of the general population of Manipur.
This contradicts all assurance and stance taken earlier by the state government against “Alternativa Arrangement” issues on which the Tripatite Talk is based and conducted, the statement pointed out and said, not only the Manipur state cabinet had earlier resolved to remove and forget “Alternative Arrangement” from the agenda but also said they would avoid any meet with such an agenda.
The statement further stated, territorial integrity is a very sensitive issue for the people of Manipur and hence any issues and talks that would affect the boundary should be dealt with extreme caution and reminded the severity of the June 2001 uprising.
