IMPHAL, Oct 7: “Discovering the presence of UG cadres in Waithou of Imphal West district, troops of 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) area along with Thoubal Police launched joint operation in the area and apprehended one UPPK cadre on October 6”, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
It has further identified the apprehendee as Md Basei Tomba alias Jia UI Rahman alias Keima, 19, son of Md Tayai, resident of Ushoipokpi Thongmakha.
One 9 mm Pistol with magazine, four live rounds, one electric detonators, 750 grams of explosive with pellets and one mobile phone were recovered from the apprehendee who alongwith recoveries was handed over to Lilong police station, it said.
