IMPHAL, Oct 18: The Christian Network of Positive Women, CNPW Manipur inaugurated its 5th Biennial Conference at the State Youth Hostel Khuman Lampak today.
The conference aims to empower the marginalised HIV positive Christian women and to disseminate information on HIV and Sexual Health to vulnerable women.
The 4-days conference with its theme, ‘Together in Christ, we smile at the pandemic’, the conference provided an opportunity to share and care the challenges faced by the positive women participants in dealing with the reality, and to disseminate information on HIV and spirituality thought workshop, seminar would conclude on 21 October.
Speaking during the opening of the function, A Ranjana, District Project Officer, Social Welfare department opined that women have more strength to tolerate the harsh reality than men, and comparing the degree of tolerance between men and women, she lauded the inborn quality of women in facing life`s hurdles and pains.
The network has been active in almost all the hill districts of Manipur including some remote areas of the state.
The opening session of the conference was attended by Ching, State coordinator EHA-Manipur (Project Orchid), Ph Pradeep Kumar, Mr. India and comedian s Hemanta and film actor Kaiku as guests of honour.
