IMPHAL Oct 26: Concerned over the slow pace development activities in the district the Chandel Naga Peoples Organisation (CNPO) has stated that ‘Chandel district is still in the dark ages.’
According to the press release, the CPNO further said that they have submitted 8 point charter of demand to the Chief Minister, the concerned minister and the MLAs of 41 and 42 of Chandel Assembly constituency.
The 8 point demand includes construction of separate transport department office at Chandel Head Quarter (HQ); construction of tourism house at Chandel, HQ; immediate depute of 2 SDC staff in Deputy commissioner office, Chandel; actions against the irregularities of ministerial staff in ZEO Dept. Office Chandel, HQ; action against work agency for over delay in completion of the construction of Mini Stadium sport complex in Chandel; actions against BRTF Department for their delay on resuming the construction work of black-topping between the stretch from Pallel to Chandel HQ Bazar.
