IMPHAL, Oct 8: The two day long golden jubilee celebration of the Thangmeiband Kabui Women Organisation (TKWO), Namthanlong, concluded on Monday with colourful traditional extravaganza.
The celebration was inaugurated by Home Minster, Gaikhangam, on Sunday.
The concluding function was attended by Thangmeiband MLA, Kh Joykishan as the chief guest, Kabui Mother’s Association (KAMA) president, Kakomlunglu Kamei as the guest of honour and TKWO PRESIDENT, Alulaona Kamson as the functional president.
In his speech, Thangmeiband MLA Joykishan, while lauding the role of TKWO for their relentless effort for the betterment of the Namthanlong village, suggested to work harder to put the village at the zenith.
Assuring possible help in the endeavour of TKWO, the MLA assured to construct a community for Namthanlong before Gaan Ngai celebration.
KAMA president Kakomlunglu Kamei, while addressing the guest of honour speech called for ‘peace and unity’ among the Zeliangrong brethren. Presentation of songs by the womenfolk, performance of traditional dance by youths etc marked the concluding ceremony.
