IMPHAL, October 24: A 46-year-old man was killed in a hit and run case yesterday.
The deceased person has been identified as Irom Oken, 46, son of (L)Ibomcha of Kamong Langoljam Maning Leikai. He was working as a gatekeeper at a stone quarry at Maharabi under Sekmai Police.
Irom Oken was hit by a Maruti van at Maharabi Lamkhai under Sekmai Police yesterday around 2:40 pm, later at around 5:10 pm and later succumbed to his injuries at RIMS.
The van which was coming from the Imphal side sped away after hitting Oken. The identity of the van is yet to be identified sources said.
In regard to the incident, a case has been registered at Sekmai Police Station.
Oken`s death body was handed over to his family today after post mortem was conducted at RIMS morgue.
