IMPHAL, Oct 3: The Limca Book of Records have awarded a certificate to the Innovative Youth Society and BOSS Juices, Manipur for its longest green salad.
The record breaking salad made by 15 persons using 781.3 kgs of green vegetables besides spices and cheese was displayed during the Chinjak Festival campus at Palace Compound on April 27, 2012.
The 100 metre 6 inch salad was made with onions, cucumbers, tomato, cabbage, watermelon, mint, cheese and spices and was displayed on 40 tables.
Announcing the arrival of the certificate today, Khuraijam Athouba said the two organizations would award Rs 10000 to anyone breaking the record after confirmation from the Limca Book of Records.
Elaborating on procedure of receiving the acknowledgement from the Limca Books of Records, he said, that they had submitted their entry just after the CHinjak festival however the confirmation came only on September 7 and received the certificate today.
The India Book of Records had already certified the salad as the longest salad, he added.
He also said that the organizers will bring out under such creative event in this year’s Sangai festival in November.
