IMPHAL, Oct 29: The Manipur Adventure and Allied Sports Institute has said that a long awaited dream has now turned into reality with the setting-up of a Tourist Lodge inside the MASSI training complex at Keirao.
A MAASI press release stated that the state govt. has also given the recognition as State Institute of Adventure in 1990, and the provision of Tourist lodge inside the MASSI Training complex would provide an opportunity to MASSI to impart training in adventure and leadership among the youths of the state.
It further said that the said tourist lodge would provide boarding and also adventure equipment, mountain bicycle etc.
The tourist lodge, which was constructed with a cost of Rs 11,71,100 provides dining hall, conference room for a capacity of 300 tourists and it would also boost adventure and adventure tourism in the state.
The press release said that MAASI have also organised a range of adventure sports and adventure awareness camps in the state, nation and even in the international arena by organising expedition, trekking, and exploration with river rafting, desert safari, rescue operation and study tours.
With the support of tourism department, they are well prepared for supporting the tourism festival 2012 which is organised by state Directorate of Tourism.
The MASSI further added that they also have organised 10-Days ‘Adventure Awareness Camp form November 1 to November 10 in which any interested students and youths could join after collecting necessary information from the institute.
