IMPHAL, October 24: The Chief Minister will be urged to name a road in Imphal City after Olympic Bronze medallist, pugilist Mary Kom, said IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip today during a felicitation programme of the star pugilist today.
The Minister was speaking as the chief guest of the felicitation programme was held at the Kanglatombi Orphanage Compound organized by the Karong Kilong Sampar/Songthu Organizing Committee.
The Minister further took the responsibility of delivering the 3 acre land for her coaching centre and the promotion to the rank of SP as was announced earlier by the Chief Minister.
He continued that he will try to materialise the assurance soon after the CM’s return from the national capital.
Today’s function was also attended by local MLA Nemcha Kipgen as the guest of honour.
