Minor Irrigation Department to have its own hall and security soon

IMPHAL, Oct 22: “ Steps are going on in order to construct a hall in the Minor Irrigation Department as there is not an even single hall at present to held department’s function and seminar . Security persons will also be deployed soon in the department after consulting the Home Department“, said Parliamentary Secretary K. Meghachandra.

He was speaking during a felicitation ceremony organized by the All Minor Irrigation Department Employees’ Association which was held at the department’s premise today. The ceremony was held to welcome the newly elected Parliamentary Secretaries K. Meghachandra and former staff of the department and Yaiskul A/C MLA E. Chand.

K. Meghachandra said the Minor Irrigation department has been playing a vital role in the present day of food crisis by providing irrigation help to various agriculture and horticulture works while calling upon to the department’s staffs to work sincerely and co-operate each other to provide valuable assistance to the State’s farmers.

He further said he will urge to the State chief minister to enhance the department’s policy and system in order to yield better performances and provide latest equipments to the department and added thats consistent work culture need to be maintain among the workers to achieve the department’s goal.

The felicitation programme was also attended by J.C. Ramthanga, IAS, Commissioner of Minor Irrigation, Government of Manipur and M. Shyambabu, Chief Engineer of Minor Irrigation Department as the chief guest and president respectively.
