IMPHAL, October 29: An angry local mob today at around 10 am dismantled the house of a man who allegedly sexually abused a girl child for more than two months.
The accused person has been identified as Oinam Premjit, 36, son of Sanaba of Ningthoukhong. He is presently staying at Khurai Chingangbam Leikai and has been residing there since some years back along with his second wife and children.
Speaking with media persons, one of the locals said that yesterday at around 3 pm they heard Premjit along with his second wife quarrelling with the girl.
Hearing the noise, a woman of the locality went to their house to enquire what was happening. That was when the locals came to know that the girl was a domestic helper of Premjit and she has been staying with them since few months, the local said.
The girl told the womenfolk of the area that she was made to sign in a blank paper forcefully and Premjit has been physically and sexually abusing her for the past two or three months, the local further said.
After hearing that, womenfolk of the area along with other locals held a meeting at Khurai Chingangbam Mayai Leikai regarding the incident and handed the girl over to an NGO which works in women and child rehabilitation programme, the local said.
The meeting further resolved not to let the couple stay in their locality, the local added.
The accused persons were absconding till the filling of this report.
