IMPHAL, October 8: MPSC beat defending champion NISA 2-1 and tops the point table with 19 points from 8 matches in the ongoing 7th Manipur State League at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium today.
NISA took the lead by 1-0 goals in the first half of the match taking advantage of a penalty awarded in favour of NISA when MPSC defender K Priyokumar handed the ball.
In the 12th minute of the match Th Borish of NISA attempted for a goal, while defending it MPSC defender K Priyokumar handed the ball on which the referee awarded a penalty in favour of NISA.
Th Borish converted the penalty into goal and NISA took the lead by 1-0 goals.
The two goals for MPSC were scored by Golmei (58th) and I Nilakumar (59th)
In the second ground match, NEROCA defeated TRAU by 3-0.
Kh Sanjoy Singh (68th,90+1st) and Mahesh Rai (82nd) scored for NEROCA.
