LAMKA, October 20: The Vaiphei People`s Council, VPC, the parent organisation of the Vaiphei community today, felicitated successful candidates of the community of the recently announced UPSC and MPSC conducted exams.
The felicitation programme was held at the council’s head office situated at D Phailan village in Churachandpur district.
Out of the six successful candidates who were invited, only three could turn up for the felicitation.
The other three were either out of station or had committed themselves to other programmes.
Speaking at their felicitation program, the three successful candidates made their speeches on the struggles and hardships that they had to go through to reach where they are today.
MTDC chairman Manga Vaiphei grace the occasion as MP from outer Manipur parliamentary constituency, Thangsho Baite couldn`t make it to the occasion.
Speaking at the function, Manga Vaiphei lauded the candidates for their achievements and told them to be true in discharging their duties.
He further asked the youths, particularly from the Vaiphei community, to emulate the successful candidates.
He continued his speech by elaborating on the hardships that the community had to face in earlier the days as there was hardly any high ranking officer from the community in the state.
The MTDC chairman continued his speech by expressing his strong believe that more success will follow in the future also.
At the same time Vaiphei warned the successful candidates not to be swept away by vice and corruption which they will be confronted with in plenty.
While declaring that he is proud on the success of the boys from the Vaiphei community, the chairman reminded the selected candidates that they should never forget that they are now officers of the whole state of Manipur and do not belong only to their community.
The program was followed by a grand feast at the same venue.
