IMPHAL, October 12: A one day political conference on “Inner Line Permit System in Manipur” was held today at Youth Hostel, Khuman Lampak organized by Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System.
The function was presided by Sapam Cha Jadumani, convenor of the committee, and Advocate Khaidem Mani of Guwahati High Court moderated the programme.
The function was attended by representatives of various political parties in the state including INCP, CPI, BJP, NCP, MNP, CPIM, RJD, MPP, NPF, Trinamool Congress, JD-U, MSCP, Log Jana Shakti and Sivasena.
A four point resolution was taken unanimously at the conference. The first resolution was that they condemned the Union Home Minister Shinde’s remark that “Our Constitution will not allow such things. Any sensible person who believes in the Constitution will not pass such a bill” regarding to a Private Member’s Resolution demanding the introduction of Inner Line Permit system passed unanimously during the last session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly held on the July 13, 2012.
The second resolution was that the Joint Committee on ILP along with all the political parties in the state will pressurize the ‘Centre’ to reintroduce Inner Line Permit system in the state.
The third resolution was to organize a meeting along with a rally for quit progress and the fourth resolution was that state leaders of National political parties will pressurized their leaders regarding the issue.
