IMPHAL, October 7: Sagolband MLA RK Imo released ten thousand Pengba fingerlings into the Sagolband Bijoy Govinda Thangapat today in association with several local clubs including SEYLA, SMLVO, SCASO, SSAN, BRAWNY and YWF.
The fingerlings worth Re 1 per piece were donated by Thounaojam Doren from Uchiwa.
Doren has been donating Pengba fingerlings to local clubs and organizations without any help from the government for the past five years.
The last time fingerlings were released in the moat was in 1990 when, RK Joychandra was the state Chief Minister.
Representatives of the local clubs lauded Doren and the local MLA for the act.
Meanwhile, RK Imo said he will felicitate the six individuals from the Sagolband constituency who had recently selected through the MPSC civil services.
The MLA also lauded them for their selection.
