IMPHAL, October 25: The Manipur Association for the Promotion of Science, MAPS today felicitated veteran Scientist of Manipur, G Tomba Sharma.
The felicitation programme was held at DM College of Science.
The scientist was presented with a citation and memento.
The felicitation programme was attended by former Vice Chancellor, Manipur University Prof IS Khaidem, Senior Research Scientist, department of Astronomy, University of Maryland, USA, Prof A Surjalal Sharma and DM College of Science Principal N Kunjabati as the chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Speaking at the programme, chief guest Prof IS Khaidem expressed that the three streams of DM College under a single administration.
He expressed his beleive that the colleges would fare far more better if all the three colleges, DM Arts, DM Science and DM Commerce come under a single administration under a Director.
Te former Vice CHancellor also expressed that during his days as a student of DM COllege of Science, the students had urged the government to bring the colleges together.
Elaborating on the need for a good academic atmosphere in a college or an educational institute, he continued that the said atmosphere is present in all the three colleges.
Lauding the organizers for such felicitation programmes, he said such programmes will encourage the young students to take their studies in a more serious way and urged the organizers to continue further.
