IMPHAL, October 24: The Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee today organised a felicitation programme of newly successful candidates of Sagolband constituency in the recently announced MPSC conducted civil services exam.
The felicitation programme was held at the Sagolband Bijoy Govinda Community hall.
Local MLA RK Imo Singh, senior citizens Rajkumar Rashmani Singh, retd Principal Johnstone Higher Secondary School, Thokchom Priyojit, retd Director Science & Tech Environment, Sorokhaibam Chaoba, HRD School Principal Lourembam Kamakhya and GP Women College retd Principal Haorakcham Rajen as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
The successful candidates who were felicitated today numbering nine are Saklemba RK (Rank 26), Thokchom Shangkar Deba (27), Heikrujam Chitaljit Meetei (36), Pramesh Arambam (38), Thounaojam Samson Meetei (59), Takhellambam (o) Sunanda Thokchom (70), Takhellambam Milikan Singh (74), Karam Umadevi (79) and Maisnam Chinglembi Luwang (87).
Speaking at the felicitation programme, MLA RK Imo while congratulating the successful candidates, said that just getting selection is not the end in fact the real action starts now.
The first time MLA continued that the newly selected officers should have a vision to work for the betterment of the state. He said the new officers should be committed to the welfare of the society and should have a selfless attitude.
Rajkumar Rashmani Singh in his presidential speech said the society is filled with corruption now. He said just to move a file through the state secretariat takes more years.
He ended his speech with an appeal to the selected candidates who will be officers of the state soon stay away from corruption.
